I'm out of town for a spell, so I don't have any of my many saved photos to upload today, so I searched my email, and after spending probably an hour reading old RA duty logs, I found two of Geneva. So this is what you'll get, and you'll like it. Haha.
I went to Geneva, Switzerland for a class on Intergovernmental Organizations and the UN. At the time, I wasn't very happy with my planned career path in Publishing, and was looking for new inspiration. So, like I do in all times when I don't know what the hell to do, I took a leap into something I knew absolutely nothing about. I applied to this program, and I got in. Geneva really put my life on track, at least in a career sense, and I've never been happier about my goals or my path I need to accomplish them. I guess inspiration comes finest in the form of a city: infinitely longer than a book, and it sometimes loves you back. (Unless you live in New York. Then it just eats you and spits you out, but you loving it so much harder because it does.)
All of the pictures I took myself, minus the one that I'm in. I'm not that good yet.
In downtown Geneva, the Jet d'Eau shoots water almost 500 feet into the air. The Alps are just about to start in the background there, and Matterhorn is visible to the left. Well, not in the picture, but in real life.
Originally used for the League of Nations, the UN Geneva (affectionally abbreviated UNOG) HQ Secretariat is based here. Also, apparently you're not supposed to go in that courtyard...but no one told me.
